About Us


Laurie McDermott


A graduate of UCLA's Theatre, Film and Television school where she  performed, wrote and directed productions of classical and original plays, and the American Conservatory Theatre where she received her MFA in  acting.  Teacher of young artists at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute  in LA, the Young Conservatory at A.C.T. in San Francisco, PCPA, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City, American  Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC), Daniel Webster School of the Humanities in New Rochelle and the Clarkstown School District here in New City, NY.  Laurie is an accomplished actress herself having performed in television, film and theater across the country, but her true love is teaching the craft and creating authentic, proficient actors who naturally shine being truthful to the text. In addition to teaching at the studio, Laurie collaborated on the musical My Country 'Tis of Thee with Julie Upton for Little Tor Elementary school in New City, and costume designs and stage manages for other venues in Rockland County, New York.


Rick Poulin


A graduate of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, City University of New York (CUNY), and the Juilliard School's Technical Internship. Rick started working with 'As the World Turns' and multiple feature films before realizing his dream as the Lead Spot Operator for dozens of Broadway Shows, and becoming a veteran of many Broadway load-ins, load-outs and shop builds. 
Current Head Electrician for the Nederlander Theatre, he knows how to put the MAGIC into any production. Besides Newsies and Amazing Grace, he premiered Honeymoon in Vegas starring Tony Danza as well as the Tony-nominated DISASTER!, the HIT musical by Seth Rudetsky. He welcomed War Paint with Patti Lupone and Christine Ebersole and did sound mikes for Escape to Margaritaville. Pretty Woman, Kristin Chenoweth and Harry Conick Jr. did solo turns at the Nederlander. His welcomes the Lehman Trilogy in Spring 2020.
